These cars are the biggest ticket magnets ever, cops just can’t ignore them

These cars are the biggest ticket magnets ever, cops just can’t ignore them

There’s nothing better than putting pedal to the metal and gunning it as fast as you can. If we had things our way there’d be no speed limits, but it does seem some cars are more prone to getting tickets than others.

Toyota Tacoma

You don’t have to go far in the U.S. to find some form of pickup truck, and Toyota Tacoma drivers are some of the speediest in the country. They are pretty quick when they need to be, and sometimes even when they don’t if we’re honest – like when they’re in restricted speed zones.

Toyota Tacoma

The Toyota Tacoma is one of the most frequently ticketed vehicles on the roads after getting busted by the police time and time again.

Acura 3.0s

It might look like a pretty boring and standard car, and it is. Perhaps the fact they are so plain and gray makes people think they can get away with breaking the speed limit and the police won’t bother looking twice. Unfortunately for people who drive an Acura 3.0s, the speed gun doesn’t discriminate, and if you’re traveling too fast, it’s going to catch you.

Acura 3.0s

The car is very functional and definitely one that’s going to take you where you need to go, but unfortunately it’s also a ticket magnet. Even though it’s not one of the highest-performing cars on the roads, the people who drive it think that they are in a racing car.

Dodge Stratus SXT

When you hear Dodge, the first thing that might spring to mind is the speedy Viper. That’s not the model that gets caught breaking the speed limit so often though, and it’s actually the Dodge Stratus SXT. People choose this model because it is safe and functional, but for some reason, the police just don’t like the look of it.

Dodge Stratus SXT

Any time one drives past they feel the need to check what speed it’s doing, and very often they find it’s breaking the speed limit. Maybe the reason why the Stratus SXT is found breaking the speed limit more often than the Viper is because it’s way more affordable. Then people just pretend they’re behind the wheel of a Viper instead.

Volkswagen Golf GTI

European cars tend to be a little smaller than their American counterparts, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t expertly manufactured. Germany is one of the leading nations for car production, and the Volkswagen Golf GTI packs more of a punch than its appearance suggests.

Volkswagen Golf GTI

Underneath the hood there is an engine that puts out 210 horsepower, which is more than enough to get this compact breaking the speed limits. It is very fast, especially when it comes to acceleration and perhaps that’s why the police are often on the lookout for them. They know once those lights change to green, people behind the wheel of a Golf GTI are going to floor it.

Mazda 3s

Sometimes having a car that stands out from the rest can bring some unwanted attention from the highway patrol. The Mazda 3s is not one of the most popular vehicles in America, but it is still one of the most ticketed. Perhaps the police see this unusual car and pay extra attention to it over the many of the standard vehicles on the road.

Mazda 3s

Their stylish shape makes Mazda 3s’s stand out from the crowd, but it also seems to make the drivers break the speed limit. The police are always on watch, so if you own a Mazda 3s, it’s best that you stick to the speed limit before you get busted.

Chevrolet Monte Carlo

From the outside, the Chevrolet Monte Carlo wasn’t all that special. Sure it has a legendary look, but it’s no Ferrari or anything. Where the Monte Carlo excels is under the hood, and it’s one of the most popular muscle cars in recent years.

Chevrolet Monte Carlo

The Monte Carlo even ended up being the preferred choice for NASCAR, so you know it had speed. Drivers behind the wheel of the Monte Carlo just can’t help themselves and get caught testing out what it would be like to drive NASCAR for a living.

Volkswagen Jetta GL

Lots of people have driven a Volkswagen Jetta at some point in their lives. The car is typically used as a starter car for teens, which might explain why 31 percent of Jetta drivers admitted to having had a ticket.

Volkswagen Jetta GL

That’s a pretty significant number and suggests a large number of people behind the wheel of a Jetta are ready to break the speed limit. If you’re a passenger in a Jetta, it’s probably best that you buckle up.

Dodge Charger SE/XLT

If you’ve gone to the trouble of buying yourself a Dodge Charger, you’re going to want to get your money’s worth. What’s the point in having all that power under the hood if you aren’t going to open up the throttle every once in a while?

Dodge Charger SE/XLT

It’s not hugely surprising that people who drive Dodge Chargers are prone to getting tickets. It doesn’t matter which version they have, both the SE and XLT are watched by the police and ticketed more often than the even faster R/T model.

Nissan 350z

The Nissan 350z put style before most other things, although this car was no stranger to high speeds. The sleekly designed Nissan made people feel as though they were behind the wheel of a futuristic racing car, and they treated them like one too.

Nissan 350z

The 350z was built between 2002 and 2009 and was caught speeding by many police officers over the years. It had a powerful engine and looked sleek, which made it an ideal target for patrolling police cars looking to hand out a ticket.

Lexus ES 300

The problem with making a good car is that a lot of people are going to buy it. Well, that’s not a problem, but it makes it more likely that they are going to be caught speeding because more people are driving them.

Lexus ES 300

The Lexus ES 300 was first built in 1989, yet it’s still fairly common to see them on the roads. The big engine under the hood definitely has helped one third of ES 300 drivers pick up a ticket in their lives.

Pontiac GTO

When you think of a muscle car, something like this generally is conjured up in your mind. The Pontiac GTO is one of the most iconic cars on the roads, and it’s not just speedy drivers who love them.

Pontiac GTO

Police officers love the Pontiac GTO too, not only because it looks amazing, but also because they are magnets for tickets. It’s one of the most pulled over cars in the United States, but we reckon a lot of that is just because the officers want to get a closer look.

Scion FR-S

From appearances alone, it’s pretty clear that the Scion FR-S is meant to be driven fast. The car is sporty from the outside and the inside, so it is little surprise that the people driving it are tempted to stick their foot down.

Scion FR-S

Wherever they are on the road they stand out, which means the police officer’s eyes tend to be drawn toward them. With the ability to et from 0 to 60 mph in just six seconds, it’s easy to see why the Scion FR-S gets ticketed so often.

Scion FR-S

Toyota Supra

The Toyota Supra was in its prime during the 1990s, and many people wanted to get their hands on this sporty Japanese car. It has a unique look on the roads and really draws the eye, but can also drive really fast.

Toyota Supra

There is a large engine under the hood and often a giant spoiler on the back, making it all too tempting for police officers to pull Supras over. If you add into the mix they were super fun to drive, it’s no surprise the Supra gets ticketed so much.

Mercedes C-Class C250

Mercedes have been making impressive cars for generations, and the C-Class is one of their more executive vehicles. Just because there are supposedly more responsible people behind the wheel of them, doesn’t stop the car getting ticketed so often.

Mercedes C-Class C250

Perhaps people were just trying to channel the German way of driving with limited speed restrictions on the Autobahn. Sadly these cars had to abide by American laws, which meant plenty of tickets coming the way of the Mercedes C-Class C250.

BMW 5 Series 535i

When German cars leave the manufacturing plant, they are meant to be driven to their capabilities. The BMW 5 Series 535i has lots of speed and power under the hood, so it’s a shame if it doesn’t get a good run out every now and then.

BMW 5 Series 535i

In Germany it can test its speed on the Autobahn, but in the US, people just can’t drive that fast. That doesn’t stop BMW 5 Series owners from trying though, but more often than not, they end up getting caught and given tickets.

Mercedes C-Class C220

The C-Class is back, but this time it’s the older version of the C250. People who get behind the C-Class C220 are just as inclined to drive faster than they are meant to and it’s not uncommon for them to get tickets.

Mercedes C-Class C220

People buy this German car for the speed it comes with, and when it seems as though the road up ahead is clear, they put their foot down. More often than not though, there’s a police patrol lying in wait just ahead to catch them breaking the speed limit.

Lincoln LS

The Lincoln LS was only in production for a little over half a decade, but that hasn’t stopped the owners of this vehicle speeding a lot. It’s thought that approximately 29 percent of Lincoln LS drivers have been pulled over and given a ticket in the vehicle’s short history on our highways.

Lincoln LS

There are no more Lincoln LS’s being produced, but that isn’t stopping the owners of this stunning vehicle from getting pulled over. Ford shut down the production facility, and the world was denied seeing any more new Lincoln LS’s.

Subaru Impreza 2.5I

Although it doesn’t look all that inspiring, the Subaru Impreza 2.5 is a ticket magnet. The Japanese car manufacturer has had this classic vehicle in production since 1992, and it has racked up a whole bunch of tickets in that time.

Subaru Impreza 2.5I

There is an assembly plant for the Impreza in Indiana, which means there are plenty of them on the roads. As we’ve seen with other uninspiring cars, the more of them on the roads, the more likely they are to get ticketed.

Subaru Impreza WRX

The Subaru Impreza WRX is the big brother of the 2.5I, and it’s not a surprise this gets ticketed a lot. Instead of being bland, the Impreza WRX stands out thanks to its sporty body and loud engine grunt on the roads.

Subaru Impreza WRX

The WRX was designed for racing and has been a favorite on the rally circuit for many years. Not only is this car designed to travel really fast, but it is also meant to go sideways at the same time.

Scion tC

The Toyota Celica was the affordable sports car for a generation, and the Scion tC is meant to be the Celica 2.0. The sleek design and fine-tuned engine means police officers seek thee cars out for tickets on the roads.

Scion tC

Drivers can’t resist pushing the Scion tC to its limits, and that means getting busted for speeding. There can’t be many regrets by those who do get caught though because you know they’ve had a great time driving this car.

Infiniti QX80

Although it’s often coupes and sedans that get pulled over for speeding, some SUV drivers like the sound their vehicles make when they hit the gas. The Infiniti QX80 is Nissan’s most luxurious SUV, and it comes with every accessory you could ever need.

Infiniti QX80

There is even a DVD player in the back, which might explain why drivers get distracted so often and don’t check their speed enough. The vehicle packs a punch, and the V-8, 5.6-liter engine makes it go real fast.

Ford Fusion

The Ford Fusion essentially blends into the traffic on the roads because you see so many of them. They are like the Coca-Cola of cars, and everywhere you look, you’ll find one. Because they are basically everywhere, it’s not a surprise that they get given tickets so often.

Ford Fusion

With an engine that packs 200 horsepower, it’s really easy to break the speed limit in a Ford Fusion. If you aren’t paying attention, you can find the police on your tail pretty quickly chasing you to give you a ticket.

Chevrolet Tahoe

The Chevrolet Tahoe is one of the most reliable vehicles, that’s why so many people choose it. In fact, the Chevrolet Tahoe is more or less a tank, and it practically guarantees your safety if you are to get into an accident.

Chevrolet Tahoe

With a V-8 engine under the hood, the Tahoe can pick up a lot of speed and very quickly. That means it’s easy to go above the speed limit without knowing it, until it’s too late and you’re on the side of the road with a ticket.

Pontiac G8

It’s not just the classic Pontiacs that draw attention from highway patrols, and the modern versions get pulled over for tickets too. The G8 is built in Australia and Canada, which means there are a lot of them on our roads.

Pontiac G8

General Motors had to discontinue the G8 in 2009, but that hasn’t stopped its drivers from picking up plenty of tickets over the years. Even though no new ones have hit our roads since 2009, they are still favorites of the police to pull over.

Ford Mondeo Titanium X TDCI

Ford is one of the biggest American automotive institutions, but amazingly, not one single part of the Ford Mondeo Titanium X TDCI is built in the United States. Instead it is assembled in places such as China, Russia, Belgium, Thailand, and Taiwan.

Ford Mondeo Titanium X TDCI

The car is a pretty standard sedan, but because it’s so reliable, people love to buy them. Because there are so many on the roads, it’s another one of those cars that you wouldn’t expect to get a lot of tickets, but it really does.

Mazda Tribute

When you stick a big engine in pretty much any road-worthy vehicle, it’s going to be fast. The Mazda Tribute has a big beast under the hood, which means the owners of this classic SUV and compact hybrid get busted for speeding.

Mazda Tribute

The vehicle was jointly developed by Ford and had a wide release before production finally ceased in 2011. It spent 11 years on the market, and it’s thought that one in three owners ended up getting a ticket in a Tribute.

Chevrolet Malibu

It might have a slightly exotic name, but there’s nothing fancy about the Chevrolet Malibu, at least as far as style goes. This car was designed with speed in mind, and it packs plenty of muscle under the hood.

Chevrolet Malibu

It seems the police deliberately pick out inconspicuous-looking vehicles, and with good reason, they keep breaking the speed limit. You might not be impressing anyone when you roll up in your Malibu, but at least the police will be giving you attention.

BMW 320 DM

Although it’s another sedan, it’s clear from just taking one look at the BMW 320 DM that it was built with speed in mind. The German-made car is perfect for getting you from one point to another really quickly, especially if you can travel along the Autobahn.

BMW 320 DM

It’s not so great when you’re driving it really fast around the United States, and it’s only a matter of time before you get a ticket. Approximately one third of 320 DM drivers get pulled over and given tickets.

Land Rover Discovery

The British-made Land Rover Discovery is one of the luxury vehicles of choice by the rich and famous. It offers extreme comfort from the inside, and under the hood it’s all about the power.

Land Rover Discovery

The vehicle is great for pretty much any situation and while you’re nice and relaxed inside, you can tear up the roads at great speed. It is thought that 28 percent of Land Rover Discovery drivers end up getting pulled over and given a ticket for their speedy ways.

Mercedes-Benz CLS-63 AMG

The chances are if a car looks like this, then it’s going to be fast. The Mercedes-Benz CLS-63 AMG backs up its sporty looks with some serious speed, but perhaps a little too much for the highway patrol’s liking.

Mercedes-Benz CLS-63 AMG

It’s easy to forget you’re not on this world when you sit inside the scientific interior and maybe that’s why drivers speed so often in them. Almost 30 percent of people driving this Mercedes-Benz get pulled over for tickets.

Mazda 2

The Mazda 2 is a car that lends itself to those who love to tweak their automobiles. Sticking a supercharged engine in the Mazda 2 is no problem, and with a few sporty extras, this car can really look the real deal.

Mazda 2

Because it’s associated with mainly young drivers, who like to go fast, the Mazda 2 gets pulled over a lot. Statistics suggest that 28 percent of all Mazda 2 drivers get pulled over and handed tickets by the police.

Toyota FJ Cruiser

It might look ready for anything, but one thing the drivers of this car are not prepared for is how often they get pulled over by the police. The Toyota FJ Cruiser is kind of like a box on wheels, but it’s pretty rugged and can handle most situations on the roads.

Toyota FJ Cruiser

The two different colors make it stand out, while the shape draws your eye. Police officers have taken a liking to the FJ Cruiser, and it’s getting pulled over more and more often these days.

Mercury Topaz

This car is pretty old, but we’re pretty sure if you were to take a 30-minute drive around your town or city you’re going to see one. They haven’t been produced since 1994, but because they are so reliable and last forever, people keep using them.

Mercury Topaz

There were so many of them on the roads at one stage that it was inevitable they were pulled over and ticketed. They might be old, but they can still move, and plenty of drivers behind the wheel of the Mercury Topaz get tickets.

Subaru Tribeca

Subaru makes their cars well and even a model that was considered a flop still drives well. The Subaru Tribeca ceased to be made in 2014, and the Japanese car manufacturer had to take the hit on their new SUV.

Subaru Tribeca

Despite the limited number of Tribecas on the roads, there are a ton of them that get pulled over for speeding. An estimated 29 percent of all Tribeca owners have been given tickets by law enforcement during the vehicle’s short history.

Saturn Aura

Saturn was a popular car brand before General Motors could no longer support the failing company. There have been no more Saturns made since 2009, and the Aura was one of the last they ever made. While it wasn’t enough to impress the shareholders, the Aura has made an impression on some people, mostly the police.

Saturn Aura

The four-door sedan can really start to shift once it gets going, and it’s brakes work well too. We know this because 27 percent of Aura drivers have had to stop to receive their tickets.

Mitsubishi 3000GT

The Mitsubishi 3000GT is beloved by many imported car enthusiasts. Not only because of the way it looks, but also because of how it performed when on the asphalt. The 3000GT has a huge engine under the hood and with little weight to slow it down the car was super fast.

Mitsubishi 3000GT

After a decade of production no more 3000GTs were rolling out off the assembly line after 2000. Despite a limited number of them left on our roads, over 27 percent of 3000GT drivers got tickets for driving too fast.

Suzuki Reno

It might look small and innocent, but it’s always the quiet ones you’ve got to watch out for. It seems as though the police haven’t forgotten that sentiment and aren’t afraid to pull over Suzuki Reno drivers.

Suzuki Reno

It’s thought that an estimated 28 percent of Reno drivers in the United States have been ticketed. Even though this small car has little in the way of power, it’s agile and uses its size as an advantage. The only problem is it breaks the speed limit in doing so.

Scion xA

If you thought the Reno looked innocent, then check out the Scion xA. It doesn’t seem capable of breaking the speed limit, especially when compared to other vehicles that commonly do.

Scion xA

What makes it even more remarkable is the fact that this car was only in production for three years, yet those who drive it love speed. It seems as though people drive this car at its limit very often as 27 percent of Scion xA owners have been given tickets.

Toyota Camry Solara

Although it looks a little long, the Toyota Camry Solara was very popular from 1998 to 2008. The Camry Solara was known for its safety, and if you were going to have an accident, having one in this was safer than others.

Toyota Camry Solara

Even though you might expect safer drivers to pick up this car, it ranks pretty highly among vehicles pulled over for speeding. It’s not a young person’s car, but there seems to be some group of drivers out there who love safety, but also the thrill of speeding.

Hummer H2

The Hummer H2 was the perfect car if you wanted to intimidate everyone else around you. The giant vehicle was almost like driving a tank and not only was it very sturdy, it could also travel really fast.

Hummer H2

Most of the Hummer H2s came in a bright yellow, so there is no doubt that police officer’s eyes were drawn to them. While they might look like tanks, they don’t drive like them, and it is very easy to go over the speed limit in one of these colossal beasts.
