We are often told to avoid comparing, but drawing a comparison isn’t necessarily a negative thing. When handled with the right approach, it can actually be a wonderful way of gaining perspective and learning about the world and about yourself.

When we were children, our parents usually registered most of our milestones, like the first word we said, the first steps we took, the first time we ate solid food, the first day of kindergarten. We’re all for continuing the tradition in adulthood.
The first day of freshman year in college, for example, is a huge milestone, but we often forget to document it. Pair it with a photo of the last day of freshman year for comparison’s sake, and you’re golden.
