We have a newfound respect for mussels after seeing the collage below and reading the explanation from the person who shared it online. The photo on top shows two tanks filled with water from a stream; the tank on the left doesn’t have any mussels in it, and the tank on the right does.
The photo on the the bottom shows the same two tanks after 24 hours. The tank on the left is still turbid, but the tank on the right looks completely clear, thanks to the mussels, who filtered all the water.
