Man, health standards were really quite different back in the day. They were using lead paint, for instance, which we discovered the hard way wasn’t very healthy for humans. Oops. Mercury was also commonly used a handful of decades ago. And let’s not forget about asbestos!
We know the dangers of asbestos now, but they were all about it back then. Perhaps they were convinced by this cutesy marketing that it was all good. But then again, this is also the generation where people didn’t even know that smoking was harmful. Maybe asbestos did seem clean….
