It takes just one glance at this item before anyone can tell that this is incredibly old, probably hundreds and hundreds of years old. Maybe this is something that should belong on television.
Actually, this is a double inkwell, which was fairly commonly used in the 19th century. The second well can be used to wash your pen after writing, so that the ink doesn’t try to clog up the tip. If you are not too bothered about your trip getting clogged up, you can also use it for two colors of ink.
