This is something that probably many of us have seen before but simply never questioned. It’s not an uncommon sight to see retaining walls with these metal bits on them, but what is the purpose? Apparently these are installed to keep people from skateboarding. Walls like this are the perfect height for skaters to grind their boards on, and that quickly leads to the walls being scuffed up and potentially ruined.
So sorry skater boys and girls. Another example of the system trying to keep us down! Ah well, there’s always the skate park, eh?
