On top of being an extraordinarily beautiful country Peru is also known for its rich and glorious ancient culture and heritage. The original poster found a wooden object as they were standing on a beach in Lima, Peru.
Turns out this healer thingy is a ceremonial chonta. It was used in traditional healing ceremonies. The carving in the wooden staff is even made from the wood of the Chonta Palm. It can be seen sitting at the head of a ceremonial altar.
