It’s not uncommon for soldiers to return from war with all kinds of artifacts. As time goes on, the meaning of these items is lost. That’s how you’re left with all of these mystery war antiques. This medal was brought back by someone’s father who served in the Iraq War, yet it wasn’t a medal issued to him by the U.S. military.
According to the Internet, this was actually an Iraqi medal known as the Mother of All Battles Medal. It was given to Iraqi soldiers that fought in Desert Storm after Saddam declared that they won.
