The original poster describes this object as a bit of polyester in a honeycomb shape. It was fiberglassed and attached to a flimsy aluminum disk. For the record, it was found in the U.S. Treasury of Guam. It did not take long for the Internet to research and figure this one out and even then, the answer is pretty fascinating.

It’s actually due to a recent rocket launch, which had apparently failed. A Chinese Long March rocket had taken off, but its payload was spotted reentering the atmosphere somewhere outside of Guam.
