My wife manages a coffee shop in Orange County. She once gave an employee a verbal warning for something that should’ve resulted in a written warning. Instead of being happy they didn’t end up with a black mark on their record, the employee ran to the owner to snitch on my wife for not writing them up.
In the least surprising move in history, the owner not just wrote them up but also promptly fired them. To this day, we don’t have an idea what the employee thought would happen.
