Around 13 years ago, the manager at the retail store where I was working, was faking returns. He would take the returns onto his own credit card, instead of back in the cashier system. He got away with this for about a month – until the district manager showed up.
This man immediately realized something was fishy with the receipts on returns, talked to HR, and within an hour had all the evidence he needed to have that manager fired. The guy paid everything he stole back in exchange for not being charged with fraud.
