[post_page_title]A bad hire [/post_page_title]
Every summer I hire some high school students to pick tomatoes at my tomato fields. It’s not easy physically, but all you need to do the job is a pair of hands and some stamina. No previous experience needed. Which is why it’s perfect for teens.
So I hired this 16-year-old kid who conveniently forgot to tell me he was colorblind. So naturally, he couldn’t tell apart the red, ripe tomatoes from the green ones that shouldn’t be picked…I had to fire him, but I did feel bad doing it.
