As a senior lifeguard at a very busy public swimming pool, one afternoon I showed up early to my shift. There I found the new-ish young lifeguard fast asleep at the lifeguard tower…I fired her on the spot.
I honestly can’t believe how irresponsible people can be. Both her and the rest of us were lucky nothing happened during her nap. Had a kid drowned on her watch, we would all have suffered consequences much worse than getting fired.
