The first X-Men movie from is underrated, in our opinion, starting to a franchise that’d conclude 20 years later. True, not all of the movies in between have been classics, but the original still holds up. The action’s great, but it’s no slouch in the comedy department either. For example, when Wolverine is first introduced to the team, he’s more amused than impressed at their silly codenames.
Meeting Professor Xavier, he asks, “What do they call you, ‘Wheels'”? Once again carrying the franchise on his back, this was all Hugh Jackman – the script, apparently, called for an anemic, “What do they call you, ‘Baldie?'”
