There have been dozens of characters in the MCU, some more important than others. Only one, however, made it all possible. Without Tony Stark – without Robert Downey Jr. – there is no MCU. Stark made nine non-cameo MCU appearances, to the point that it’s clear he’s like a second skin for RDJ.
Example? In Avengers: Infinity War Tony and Doctor Strange are talking shop when Peter Parker interjects. Without missing a beat, Iron Man goes, “The adults are talking.” After a decade in the role, Downey didn’t need pesky things like a script to know what Tony would say.
